The Federal Court has fined the Melbourne e-commerce operator Purple Harmony Plates and its directors, Neal Arthur Lyster and Helen Therese Glover, $40,000 for contempt of court. Last year the purple people told the court they didn't recognise its jurisdiction because they had seceded from Australia and, using the Magna Carta and biblical references to support their position, claimed the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission's prosecution of them for misleading and deceptive representations was treasonous and an act of war.
